1841 NO.3 POSTAL NOTICE. A very fine complete example of this rare and historic postal notice bearing a 1d red-brown 'JE' plate 5 with 4 margins (SG 7, cat £12,000), and a top corner marginal 1841 2d blue trial with blank corner letters from the 'small trial plate' prepared just for this notice (SG Spec DP43, cat £1800), also two 1d pink envelopes each overprinted "SPECIMEN", sent by E.S. Lees from the General Post Office, Edinburgh. This a particularly fresh and well- preserved example with normal minor splits along folds.
