"LOWER TUGELA ZULULAND DE 9 1896" cds on overprinted 1/2d postal stationery card of Great Britain, showing "LOWER-TUGELA NATAL" transit and "DURBAN NATAL" arrival. The very fine postcard was written by a french speaking missionnary who mentions that he wishes to teach the locals how to make fishing nets.
A RARE CANCELLATION WHICH PROVES THE EXISTANCE OF THE LOWER TUGELA POSTMARK ON BOTH SIDES OF THE RIVER (ZULULAND AND NATAL). Our example of this elusive postmark is of much better condition than the ones included in the Wilson Wong or John Robson collection.

In april 2005 the idea to build a place where collectors, customers and investors from all over the world could meet, was realized.
Since that time both, the Mail Order House and Auction House Gärtner, have been united on 2.700 m2 in the easy accessible building owned by Christoph Gärtner.
Generous viewing and storage rooms, a private auction hall, enough parking space and an underground car park are available.
