1865 "MARTINIQUE/IMP. EUGENIE/30/MARS/65" and wrong "MEXIQUE/IMP. EUGENIE/30/MARS/65" octagonal datestamps used on small cover from Fort de France to Charente, France, franked by 'tête-bêche' pair (one stamp sideways) of French Colonies 10c. brown tied by Martinique "MQE" in diamond of dots, with blue "CORR.D'ARMEES.FORT DE FRANCE/26/MARS/65" despatch d/s in blue, transit datestamps as well as '16 April 65' arrival cds, on front and on back. The cover signed by the Lieut. Colonel Commandant of Marines. On leaving Martinique the clerk applied by mistake the 'Mexique' mark, the realizing his mistake corrected with the 'Martinique' d/s, which resulting in this UNIQUE COMBINATION. The cover was carried on the first of only two voyages this vessel made on this route leaving St. Nazaire on Feb. 16th and arriving back at St. Nazaire on April 15th, 1865. The stamps slightly touched/cut one side, the cover with a diag. crease and light usual stains. A VERY SPECIAL AND SCARCE POSTAL HISTORY ITEM.

In april 2005 the idea to build a place where collectors, customers and investors from all over the world could meet, was realized.
Since that time both, the Mail Order House and Auction House Gärtner, have been united on 2.700 m2 in the easy accessible building owned by Christoph Gärtner.
Generous viewing and storage rooms, a private auction hall, enough parking space and an underground car park are available.
