1855, FRANCO - Faltbrief aus TRIEST14/8 nach AMSTERDAM 18/8. Frankiert mit zweimal 3 Kr. rot (3 y t a), Type III, beide gut gerandet, leicht überlappend geklebt, und 9 Kr blau (5 y t), oben stark angeschnitten, sonst gut gerandet, Bug durch die Marke (und durch den Brief). Bahnpost Leipzig-Magdeburg transit und Amsterdam Ankunft auf der Rückseite. Ein schönes Beispiel für den 15 Kreuzer Tarif. ÷ 1855 (18 Aug), Entire to Amsterdam franked 3 Kr red (Michel 3y t a, 2×), Type III, both four margin copies, smooth machine made paper and 9 Kr blue (Michel 5y t), Type II, machine made paper, three good margins, touching at top (slightly creased at top), each tied by “TRIEST, 14/8, Adends” cds, handstamped “FRANCO” in black, at back transit mark and red “AMSTERDAM, 18/8” arrival. Lovely example of 15 Kr rate. Rare letter.

Christoph Gärtner made his hobby into his profession. He started in 1984 and within two decades the Gärtner GmbH developed into a world leading mail order house for postal stationery and became a specialist for thematics and postal history.
In april 2005 the idea to build a place where collectors, customers and investors from all over the world could meet, was realized.
Since that time both, the Mail Order House and Auction House Gärtner, have been united on 2.700 m2 in the easy accessible building owned by Christoph Gärtner.
Generous viewing and storage rooms, a private auction hall, enough parking space and an underground car park are available.
