DESCRIPTION: Circa 1970s continental size printed colour post card, untitled, with descriptive text
printed on back which reads: Tranby House one of the oldest buildings vested in the National
Trust in Western Australia, was built in 1839 by Joseph Hardey who had arrived from England
in the ship Tranby early 1830 accompanied by his young wife. By May 1830 he had built their
first home probably with materials brought from England. The third Tranby House and its sur- rounding gardens were vested in the National Trust in 1974.
