DESCRIPTION: Circa 1970s continental size printed colour post card, titled: ' Greetings from Hyden ',
West Australia. Descriptive text printed on back reads: Wave Rock, a granite cliff is about 15 metres
high. Its rounded wave like shape has been caused by weathering and water erosion which has
undercut the base and left a rounded overhang. The colour of the rock is caused by water from
springs, which, as it seeps from above through the granite, dissolves minerals. In 1960, crystals
from Hyden were dated as being 2700 million years old, among the oldest in Australia. Wave Rock
is 351 km east of Perth, Western Australia.
