How to Swim : A practical treatise upon the art of natation together with instruction as to the best methods of saving persons imperilled in the water, and of resuscitating those apparently drowned by Captain Davis Dalton, G.P. Putnam's Sons / The Knickerbocker Press 1899. Clothbound illustrated hardcover boards 12,5 x 17,5 cm., 133 pages + publisher ads. Copyright 1899, undated printing eighth impression but by dating the publisher ads would be likely circa 1910. A few BW photos (including frontispiece) and several drawings listed as figures when not full page. All text and illustrations in fine state except for four pages that have pencil markings in the margins and former owner's name ink stamped (see photos). Same name is also ink stamped on title page. Endpapers stained and spotted. Solid square binding. Soiled boards have rub marks throughout, but mostly on margins leaving front artwork in a very good state. Rare collectible.
